Iraq and WaPo

Don't believe everything anything you read about Iraq in the Washington Post.

Bush the Idiot Savant

I can return to no other conclusion than Bush is a very smart man and a masterful politician. In this post at Instapundit, Bush once again says and gets what he wants.

Truly dumb people garner pity, and if not pity, then essentially no attention at all. How does someone (claimed by the Left to be) so dumb keep on rising to the top like the sweet cream in farmer's milk? If Bush really were a doorknob, would Michael Moore devote a whole whipping-post of a movie to him?

Like many of the others who admire him, I don't agree with a lot of what he stands for or has done. My small-l libertarian bearing means I don't like either his government program (over)spending or his social decisions on such things as stem-cell research or marriage.

But the trump card is national defense. Bush took action when action was necessary from a principled frame of mind. Are all his moves "correct"? Who can know for sure? But like in a chess game, many combinations of moves lead you to victory.
